Favourite Fragrance Product of 2013

This is my entry to simply-woman's competition to win either £50 of MAC makeup or £50 of clothing from New Look! To enter I had to post a blog post about the competition and my favourite product of 2013 which for me is Taylor Swift's newest fragrance, Taylor. I love the scent of this fragrance, it's really fruity and fresh. I also like the packaging as well as it's very different to the packaging of the other two fragrances. Yeah, so this is pretty much my entry, hope I win!

New Bracelet!

So it's another competition win! This time it's a bracelet! I won this from devanrylee on youtube and the bracelet itself is from K8 Create,a handmade jewellery company from a lady in Canada. It has 5 charms on it, a fish, the sun, a starfish, an umbrella and a heart and all are a kind of tarnished silver. The jewellery she sells are all one of a kind pieces made from a mix of vintage bits with modern embellishments. She has an etsy store here where you can buy some of the pieces.

MAC Paintpot in Bare Study

So this is another competition win! I won this from KerryLovesGlam on youtube and it arrived last week. I have tried it a few times and so I thought I would do a little blog post showing you it!! The colour is amazing! It's a champagney neutral colour which, in itself is nothing particularly special but it has beautiful gold reflects of shimmer running through it which makes it really unique. The texture is really creamy and the pigmentation is great! It stays on my eyelids for ages and doesn't crease at all which is brilliant for me as I have really oily eyelids! These retail for £16 which is a little pricey but I think they are well worth it!! If you are looking for a cheaper alternative then Maybelline have their colour tattoos which are about £6 and still amazing!!

Normandy.

The reason I haven't posted for the past few days is because I have been away in Normandy! The pictures above are some of the highlights of my trip! The rose was in a florist in Bayeux and I just thought it was very cool! I mean, a multi-coloured rose!! The bread below it was bread we made in a boulangerie (bakery) called Boulangerie les CoPains which was very fun! The bread was entirely made by hand and the owners were very interesting, speaking in both french and english to try and help us learn some french! All of the pictures below that one until the picture of me and the goat were taken in the American Cemetry. That was an amazing experience to go there. The sheer quantity of the crosses which each represent a soldier who died was extremely moving. We walked down a little way to see Omaha Beach, we didn't actually go on the beach because we didn't have time but we walked down a little way and took lots of pictures.

We went to a goats cheese farm and met a very cute little baby goat who was adorable! The goats cheese wasn't particularly nice but it was a fun experience to see how it was made. The last picture was of me and some of my friends jumping off a wall by the cathedral in Bayeux on our last day. Going to Normandy with all of my friends was the best holiday I have ever had and I want to go back! It was nice to spend time with an amazing group of my friends, we all got on really well and had a generally amazing time!

Motivational Monday No.1

Hello Everyone!

So today I thought I would do a bit of a lifestyle, chatty post about a motivational quote I heard. So I hope this post gives you something to think about and let me know if you want me to do more posts like this!

As a teenager at school, I get a lot of opportunities and I am lucky enough to be able to accept them if I want to - things like school trips, residentials and amazing awards like Duke of Edinburgh. If you don't live in the UK, then  Duke of Edinburgh is a award that you can achieve from ages 14-25 and it involves doing different activities from sections like physical, volunteering, skills, and an expedition. I have gone on amazingly fun trips with my school and I'm actually going on one in two weeks to Normandy with some of my best friends! (If you want to see us in Normandy, our vlogs will be up on my youtube channel.)

The point I am trying to make with this post is that, if you get given an opportunity you are interested in, take it! There may never be that opportunity again and you will most likely regret it if you don't! Even if you take it and do regret it, at least you can say you tried. I tried waterskiing last year and at first had a go alongside the boat on the bar, then went out on the rope. I was fine on the bar but majorly failed on the rope and face planted into the water, but that's fine! I had a go, tried something new and it was so fun! While you are a teenager is the perfect time to try new things and there are so many opportunities out there! I am trying to do anything and everything I want to do during my teenage years so I don't have any regrets and when I am older I can look back and think, 'well wasn't that fun when I did this, or that.'

I hope you take my advice and if you have any cool opportunities you have taken recently, then let me know in the comment section!

Spring/Summer Hair and Makeup!!

So today I have another spring related post for you! Today's post is showing you a spring inspired hair and makeup from this week! I have tutorials for both up on my youtube channel too so if you want to know exactly how I created this look then I will put the videos down below! So the hair is just these big, voluminous, beachy, waves. I did these using a straightener and lots of sea salt spray! First I blow dried my hair with the sea salt spray in it to give it lots of volume when curled. Also make sure the curls aren't too perfect, it's meant to be messy! For the makeup, I aimed to create a light, shimmery eye with a peach undertone then some contouring in the crease. I really like the look I created and if you want to see it in more detail, look at the tutorial below! I have been wearing this eye look so much this past week! I really like this look and I hope you do too!

Spring OOTD!

So I thought I might try and wear something a bit more spring-like even though the weather here in England is still not great! In this picture I am wearing a floral dress/top from Forever 21 that I love!! Its a nice cotton material and really light so it's great in the spring/summer, I think it cost about £15. It's one of those tops that you aren't quite sure whether it's a top or a dress - Last summer when I bought it, I used it as a dress but now I wear it as a top because it still fits my body but it's a little bit short to wear as a dress! I added this brown belt from Primark that was only £1 to pull the dress in at my waist a little bit which I like and then paired it with these light wash jeggings, again from primark which were £7! I like doing posts like this so please let me know if you like them too!

Urban Decay Mariposa Palette

I enter lots of competitions on youtube, other blogs and on other websites too and a few weeks ago I got a message on youtube from TheBlushedBeauty saying I had won her giveaway for the Urban Decay Mariposa palette! I recieved the palette last week and have been having a play around with some of the colours. I had never tried any of the Urban Decay eyeshadows before, as urban decay is only stocked in House Of Fraser in the UK and there isn't one near me so obviously I was quite excited to recieve this palette and share my thoughts with you.

The first thing I loved about this palette is that it's in a tin which means it is really easy to travel with, it's not going to get scuffed in your bag and nothing is going to come out if one of the eyeshadows shatters. Plus the tin has a gorgeous butterfly design embossed on the top!! Also the tin doesn't show fingerprints really which is great because when you are working with makeup, most of the time there are grubby fingerprints on your palettes which isn't a good thing! There are 10 eyeshadows in the palette and it's a really nice mix of colours with some neutral shades and some more colourful ones! The really colourful ones will probably not be used a lot really, but that is only Haight and Rockstar, the other shades are all really nice. The pigmentation is really good and the texture of the eyeshadows is quite good too. It comes with a small travel size brush which is actually a really nice brush; Normally I just throw away the applicators that come with palettes but this one is actually really good quality. My favourite shade from this palette is mushroom which is a really pretty greyish brown, perfect for the crease!

This palette retails for £28 on Beautybay which to be honest I do think is quite expensive, although I do like this palette, the eyeshadows are quite small in comparison to other palettes I have like the Stila 'In the Light' palette which is £25 for 10 eyeshadows which are bigger than these ones and an eyeliner. If I hadn't won it, I probably wouldn't have bought it for myself but I will use the eyeshadows and I really do like the colours and quality of the product.

What do you think of this palette?
